Participating Employers must:
- Be a member of an Alberta Construction Association local affiliate.
- Operate in Alberta.
Digital Transitions: Tradespeople Transitioning to VDC
This training stream will prepare tradespeople who have existing experience in the skilled trades for a transition to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) roles.
Subsidies up to $25,000 per participant are available to reimburse employers for wages paid and VDC software licenses for a work experience placement after coursework is completed.
- Applications are to be submitted by the employer.
- Must complete online training modules.
- The participant must complete a paid work experience placement of at least 200 hours after completing the in-person coursework.
- The work experience must be in a VDC focused role.
- The Participant must have a current role, or recent background, in skilled trades.
- The participant must be hired as an employee according to Alberta employment standards.
- Location of work must be primarily in Alberta.
- Employers cannot receive funding from other provincial granting programs for Digital Tradesperson work experience placements.
